Set amidst over 60,000 hectares of pristine high-altitude terrain, this is arguably the finest Greywing Francolin habitat in the country. These prolific and healthy populations thrive in this region, offering exceptional wingshooting in a landscape that’s as breathtaking as it is wild. This is true highland hunting, guided by seasoned expertise and accompanied by world-class pointing dogs — the true co-stars of every hunt.
We also offer select opportunities for the coveted Royal Macnab, as well as Vaal and Mountain Reedbuck trophies, and exceptional wild trout fishing for those looking to combine their hunt with fly fishing in crystal-clear mountain streams.
Your base for this extraordinary wingshooting safari is a historic sandstone lodge, a National Monument designed by Sir Herbert Baker. The lodge features six elegant en-suite bedrooms — each with a private fireplace, original Oregon pine floors, and high ceilings — creating a warm, inviting space steeped in character and history. Additional rooms can be arranged as needed.
The heartbeat of the experience is our separate dining and lounge hall, where stories are shared around roaring fireplaces, and guests enjoy lovingly prepared meals that blend Greek heritage with local flavors. Over 90% of ingredients are sustainably sourced within a 10km radius — fresh from the mountains, slopes, and streams. This is authentic, farm-to-table cuisine at its finest.

Whether you’re a solo hunter (custom pricing applies), a pair of seasoned wingshooters, or a small group of four or five, we ensure every guest receives our full attention.
The lodge is also ideal for non-hunters looking to explore the scenic beauty of the Southern Drakensberg.
A reasonable level of walking fitness is advised, as hunting covers a variety of terrain across the top mountain flats. We recommend layered, warm clothing, well-worn boots, and clear communication of any dietary or medical requirements in advance.
