An Unforgettable Free Range African Big Game Hunting Experience
Experience the freedom of big game hunting on hundreds of thousands acres of natural indigenous Free Range Safari Concessions with Todd Lutman and Guide Services.
We are committed to provide you with an Unforgettable Free Range African Hunting Experience. As Professional Hunters we are dedicated, experienced and ethical sportsmen and endeavour to ensure that you can look back at your safari, and the manner in which each trophy was taken, with utmost pride.
We strive to ensure that you “bag” record trophies and our skinners have the ability to prepare and treat all trophies with the utmost care and attention. We further will endeavour to select mature, top quality, free range trophy specimens for you, which will be hunted in fair chase.
To do this, you may be required to walk fair distances and at times may have to endure heat, cold and thirst. Take a good, clean shot. This is the ultimate experience for the avid sportsman, and is considered the ultimate prize.
Trophy hunting is available year-round in South Africa, although our summer months (Nov through Feb ) tend to be very hot and is also our rainy season. The best period is from March through end October. Due to the vastness of all the areas, the locating of free range game is done by traveling in a Land Cruiser hunting vehicle from where all hunting is done on foot. Find out more about South Africa Hunting and South Africa Hunting Prices by getting in touch with Todd Lutman and Guide Services.
Certain species require special licenses/or permits, in particular, CITES permits. CITES permits can be obtained from federal wildlife permit office. On most plains game the trophy fee includes the license fee.
Firearms require a temporary import permit. Please see below for downloads, or the Hunters’ support website to assist you in obtaining these. (www.hunterssupport.com) Bowhunters do not need an import permit to bring their bows into the country.
For most plains game up to Eland, a 7mm Mag.,30-06, .300 Win. Mag./Weatherby, .338 Win. or similar calibers work well and opt for the greatest bullet weight available per caliber. A minimum caliber of .375 is required by law for all dangerous game species.

South African hunting agencies typically offer a range of services, including organizing and arranging hunting trips, providing information about hunting laws and regulations, assisting with obtaining necessary permits and licenses, providing transportation and accommodations, and arranging for guides and other support staff..
When choosing a South African hunting agency, it’s important to look for a reputable and experienced provider. Look for an agency that has a strong track record of successful hunts, positive reviews from past clients, and a focus on safety and ethical hunting practices. You should also ensure that the agency is fully licensed and insured, and that they have a clear and transparent pricing structure. Finally, make sure that the agency has a thorough understanding of hunting laws and regulations in South Africa, and can assist you with obtaining any necessary permits or licenses.
South Africa is home to a wide variety of wildlife, and hunting opportunities can vary depending on the region and the specific agency you work with. Some popular species for hunting in South Africa include impala, kudu, wildebeest, waterbuck, and warthog, among others. Some agencies may also offer specialized hunts for rare species.
A hunting concession in South Africa is an area of land that has been designated for hunting purposes. These areas are typically privately owned and managed by hunting concessions or outfitters, who work with the local government to regulate hunting activities and maintain the wildlife populations in the area. Hunting concessions can vary in size and may include different types of terrain and wildlife species. Clients of South African hunting agencies may book hunts in these concessions as part of their hunting trips.
The cost of a hunting trip in South Africa can vary widely depending on a number of factors, including the species being hunted, the length of the trip, the type of accommodation, and the level of service provided by the hunting agency. As a general rule, the cost of a hunting trip in South Africa can range from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. It’s important to work with a reputable hunting agency and to have a clear understanding of the costs associated with your trip before making any commitments. Be sure to ask about any additional fees or charges that may be incurred during the trip, such as trophy fees or transportation costs.
